Board Meeting at 6:30/Business Meeting at 7:00 @ Elmwood at the Shawhan

Board member voted to accept membership applications of Mary Heil and Karen Knauer as prospective new members. And voted to order more membership book kits from the Internationl Office in Chicago. Meeting was called to order at 7:00, with members reporting number of volunteer hours for month of August. Plans were finalized for the District officer's club visit on Sept. 16th at the Pioneer Mill Restuarant at 6:00 Board Meeting and 6:30 Dinner with meeting to follow. Club voted to help at the Soul Shine Festival on September 27th to benefit the Domestic Violence Center of Seneca County. President Fraley will look into cost of preparing a billboard promoting the Tiffin Altrusa and using the Altrusa logo. After corrections are made, the Club Yearbook will be reprinted again for the International and District. The Bridal Fair Committee will meet September 23 at 7:00pm at Rock Run Bulk Foods

Meeting at Home of Gloria Fraley

Members enjoyed a Dessert Bar prepared by Bill Fraley, then processed with the business meeting. 3 - $1000.00 Scholarships were awarded to Jessica Wilkinson, Kershauna Young and Mariel Beard of Seneca County to be used at their prospective colleges. Plans were made to attend the funeral of Marge Felter who passed away, she was a Charter Member of Tiffin Altrusa and a much admired member of the club. Our next fund-raising event will be the Dec. 6-7 Christmas Shopping Trip to Downtown Chicago, using 2 buses. Tickets will be $125 per ticket for transportation and night's stay at the Palmer Hilton, priced is based on 4 people per room, less than 4 people per room will cost the ticket holder more money. Dawn Riedel has all the extra tickets and additional information. Nancy Frederick gave an update on the printing of the yearbooks, she is running behind schedule and hopes to have the books finished by the September 2nd meeting. Speaker for the evening was Norma Castanien of the Marion, Ohio club, she gave a delightful program on Wrinkle-free Travel Packing. Meeting was adjourned and members headed back to the dessert bar.
