Board Meeting at 6:30/Business Meeting at 7:15 @ American Red Cross Office

Board members voted to keep $10,000 in the Scudder Fund and hope that the stock market will rebound soon. The Scudder Fund will be monitored by Jan Anspaugh, Carol Hammer and Joyce Lather on a quarterly basis to determine if fund if producing a money gain.The slate of new officers was presented to the board and approved. Meeting was called to order at 7:15, with members reporting number of volunteer hours for month of February. Treasurer Carol Hammer reported that the last 2 fund raisers, made over $10, 000; this money will be spent in the community on various projects. Club members approved $1000 to Seneca Co. Family & Children Council to purchase an apparatus that will help a young boy with a stuttering problem. $1000 to the local Salvation Army to help with utility bills, $1000 to FACT to purchase gas cards for cancer patients and $1500 for 15 schools in the county to purchase items for their library.$500 was alotted for GED transportation. A committee was formed to setup a visit and a list of items need for our local veterans at the Sandusky County Veteran Home. Slate of new officers for 2009-2011 are as follows: President - Carol Hammer; Vice President - Karen Simonds; 1st Vice President - Joyce Lather; Secretary - Donna McConahay; Treasurer (Service) - Gwen Stallard; Treasurer (Operating) - Sandy Yarborough, Immediate Past President - Gloria Fraley; 1 Yr Directors - Vickie Ziegler & Nancy Steinmetz; 2 Yr Directors - Karen Knaur & Mary Heil.....Foundation Officers are: President - Dawn Riedle; Vice President - Nancy Steinmetz; Secretary - Jan Anspaugh; Treasurer - Gwen Stallard; Board Member - Sandy Yarbough; Non-Altrusan - Jay Meyer. Members were reminded to send in their registration for the District Five Conference before March 31, 2009 deadline. Tentatively we have 10 members attending the conference in Saginaw, Michigan.

6:30 Dinner Meeting with the Soroptimist Club at Caruso's

The Speical Events Committee was in charge of decorating and providing the dessert. Barb Vogel, Chair with Teresa Hoschar, Nancy Frederick, Gwen Stallard and Tami Staib. Next year, Soroptimist Club will be the host.
